Our daughter was stillborn and it was a difficult time, Bronwyn and team managed everything for us from the collection of our little girl to the subsequent tasks. After mum passed away we weren’t sure who to use or what happened next - death admin - people called it ! It was a very difficult time but once we found Candlepines funeral services we felt relieved as they were so helpful and very professional. Mum had a very simple quick burial and with Bronwyn’s help she was laid to rest with ease and comfort for all concerned, and the flowers were just beautiful. We contacted Candlepines to arrange for a pre paid funeral both Phillip and Bronwyn we very helpful in advising us of all packages and options and costs that were available. Arranging the funeral in advance was an excellent option for us. When it was time for the funeral arrangements we had a meeting with Bronwyn she was so kind considerate and sympathetic. Bronwyn arranged for the memorial cards the flowers and pointed us in the right direction to arrange the photo gallery and music that we had chosen. "Remembering With Love" is an apt phrase for this for this small family owned Australian business. From first contact with Bronwyn, I was impressed by her professionalism, knowledge, patience and sincerity. Our family were provided with options, information and current Co-Vid 19 restrictions. We appreciated the live streaming of the funeral enabling a wider audience to reflect on the life of my step-mother. Funerals are difficult at any time however nothing was too much trouble for Candlepines during the pandemic. All the little details were taken care of such as showing attendees to their seats, delivering and regifting of the flowers to the local church, and following up with me beyond the service. When my mum passed away, my family was plunged into grief. Having to call around the next day to organise a funeral director was daunting. Out of all the calls we made, questions for quotes etc. the only funeral director that offered to come over to our home to meet us was Bronwyn & Phil. Their family approach & the way they just took control of the event & supported our family, allowed us all to grieve & be there for each other. When dad passed away unexpectedly this year, it was such a relief knowing we had Bronwyn, Phil & family in our corner.

I don't understand the negative reviews I've read about Candlepines. Phillip and Bronwyn have cared for three of my deceased loved ones, the latest being my late brother in law Rodney Hider who passed on the 8th November 2020.The service, care and compassion they provided from the time they visited my home to make arrangements, to the funeral service today (16th November 2020) was exceptional.Nothing I asked was too much trouble, and they accommodated every request I made. I must have rung them 10 times at all hours of the day or night and never a problem to answer my questions or send me the material I needed, regardless of the hour. They are available 24/7 to their clients, which is a rarity with funeral directors.I also shopped around for other funeral directors before settling on Candlepines again, and ALL three of the other ones were more expensive for the "exact same service" that Candlepines provided. All three also tried to up-sell me on things I said I did not want, trying to make me feel guilty for not choosing a more expensive casket or embalming, even though Rodney was going to be cremated, as well as a host of other things I did not want. Candlepines were the "only" funeral directors I spoke to that did not try to guilt me into spending more money. It's clearly not just about money for them. They are more interested in making their clients happy.I am delighted with the service I got and would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone who needs a funeral director to treat their loved ones with total respect.Bronwyn acted as the master of ceremonies and did a wonderful job, quoting poems and things I wanted to be said. The service was beautiful, and everyone that attended agreed. My family members in Singapore told me the mass was simple but very beautiful service with the perfect music selected especially the 1st and 3rd was very touching and emotional. We totally recommend Candlepines to take care of all your funeral requirements during such a difficult time. We did not have to worry about anything after arrangements had been made after the passing of our Mother, in May this year.
