We contacted Candlepines to arrange for a pre paid funeral both Phillip and Bronwyn we very helpful in advising us of all packages and options and costs that were available. Arranging the funeral in advance was an excellent option for us. When it was time for the funeral arrangements we had a meeting with Bronwyn she was so kind considerate and sympathetic. Bronwyn arranged for the memorial cards the flowers and pointed us in the right direction to arrange the photo gallery and music that we had chosen. It was a beautiful service and everything we had asked for was provided on the day.

It’s Rachel Stott here I just received your lovely card today and want to thank you SO very much for the kind words of support it was lovely of you to do that I honestly don’t believe it’ll ever get easier/better and it’ll NEVER be okay Haarley is on my mind day & night EVERY Day & NIGHT from the moment i wake till the moment I sleep (when I sleep) . The pain is just as raw as the day he died my whole life has changed FOREVER & I have to live with it HARD but i have to. All I can say is thank you so much for doing David’s funeral, it was beautiful. Everybody that came called or spoke  to me to say it was the nicest funeral they have ever attended.

We first met Bronwyn and Phillip when they conducted my sister’s funeral, we appreciated how they handled such a lovely service. My husband and I, after seeing their ad for pre paid funerals decided we would ease the burden on our children when our time comes, by planning a pre paid service. We were both happy with the way everything was clearly explained to us and at no time were we pressured into more expensive things.

We cannot recommend Bronwyn and Phillip more highly for their dignity and understanding. While we hope we do not need their services in a long time, it is comforting to know when our time comes all our wishes will be fulfilled and less stress on our family.

From the very start, Phillip and Bronwyn were so understanding and helpful and the arrangements for Dirk Hartman were extremely well done and in keeping with his wishes for a very simple commemoration after cremation.
The entire process was handled faultlessly and extremely professionally by Candlepines and even the coffee, tea and biscuits afterward were magnificent.

Candlepines conducted my fathers funeral 4 weeks ago with great care, kindness and support in a difficult time and was such a beautiful ceremony. On behalf of my family ,I want to thank-you both for the kind and sensitive way you helped us through this very sad time. The funeral was just as Dad would have wished. Phillip & Bronwyn have cared for three of my deceased loved ones, the latest being my late brother in law Rodney Hider who passed an the 8th November .The service ,care & compassion they provided from the time they visited my home to make arrangements ,to the funeral service today [16th November 2020] was exceptional.

Nothing I asked was too much trouble ,and they accommodated every request I made . I must have rung them 10 times at all hours of the day or night and never a problem to answer my questions or send me the material I needed, regardless of the hour .They are available 24/7 to their clients, which is a rarity with funeral directors.

I also shopped around for other funeral directors before settling on Candlepines again, and ALL three of the other ones were more expensive for the” exact same service” that Candlepines provided. All three also tried to upsell me on things I said I did not want, trying to make me feel guilty for not choosing a more expensive casket or embalming ,even though Rodney was going to be cremated ,as well as a host of other things I did not want. Candlepines were the “only” funeral directors I spoke to that did not try to guilt me into spending more money . It’s clearly not just about money for them. They are more interested in making their clients happy.

I am delighted with the service i got and would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone who needs a funeral director to treat their loved ones with total respect.

Bronwyn acted as master of ceremonies and did a wonderful job, quoting poems and things I wanted to be said. The service was beautiful ,and everyone that attended agreed. Candlepines are caring compassionate and wonderful to deal with.
